Collections

Collections — a Set, shown as what it is.

A Collection is a Set: several numbers offered under one paper, with family 0 in the number. A Set is one of three kinds — Mosaic, Composite, Evaluation — and a Collection is shown as the kind it is: the shelf described as a shelf, the blend described as a blend. None is filed.

Steady Eddie and Strategic Agent require skill sets. Even Steven owns them. Tacit Tessera licenses them to OEMs and to AI. Two Mosaics stand in the Tacit Tessera Book as worked examples, both invented. No Composite and no Evaluation set is filed.

01What a Collection is

Family 0, on every track of every sector.

Family 0 is a Set on every track of every sector. The digit says so: in O R 0 001 GN · 1 the 0 after the track letter is the family, and it means the entry gathers other numbers rather than covering a machine, a seat or a kind of record of its own. A Set carries nothing of its own.

There are three kinds of Set, and the Card says which. A Mosaic is a shelf. A Composite is one derived artefact. An Evaluation set sits on the Machine track only and holds the scenarios a machine is tested against. A Collection is a Set offered under one paper, shown as the kind it is.

The kind is a fact on the Card, not a label on a page. A Collection is found on the Exchange, by the public side of its Card.

02The Mosaic

A shelf: each member keeps its own count, its own name and its own withdrawal.

A Mosaic gathers several numbers under one licence. The paper is one; what sits under it stays plural. Every member keeps its own number, its own edition, its own count, its own name and its own withdrawal. A member who ends it ends their own; the rest of the shelf stands. Nothing under a Mosaic's paper is folded into anything else, because a skill set folded into another can no longer be counted, named or ended on its own. That is the Mosaic's rule: A set is a shelf, not a stew.

On the Records track a seat pooled from several contributors is a Mosaic of their own numbered sets; on the Hands track a Mosaic is a crew, by name. Where methods differ, the Mosaic records the difference; it does not resolve it.

03The Composite

A blend: one derived artefact, its members recorded.

Two kinds of Set, family zero, side by side. Left, a Mosaic drawn as a shelf of four tiles in a row: each member keeps its own count, its own name and its own withdrawal. Right, a Composite drawn as four tiles feeding one larger tile: one derived artefact, whose members are recorded with their shares in the ledger, never on a page. Both are Sets, family zero; the Card says which. A composite is one derived artefact made from named members. Each member is recorded with its share in the ledger and on the licensee's paper, and a member leaves at the composite's next edition, on a date stated before anyone signs. Royalties propagate by those shares.

A share is never written on a page, on a Card, in the Book or in any answer the Verify API gives: on a page it is a figure and an attribution claim, and the register makes neither. What is public about a Composite is that it is one; its ancestry is recorded licensee-side.

A Composite is not a resolution of disagreement; where methods differ, the Mosaic records the difference. A member can always leave, at the composite's next edition, on the day stated before anyone signs.

No Composite is filed.

04The Evaluation set

Machine track only: the machine is tested, never the person.

An Evaluation set is a Set on the Machine track whose members are the scenarios a machine is tested against. Its Card says what it tests and how — the method, never a result. The result goes to the licensee, about the machine: never public, never a score, never about a person. One line holds wherever a record is asked for: a record is never supplied to assess the person, to an insurer or to anyone else.

No Evaluation set is filed. Evaluation sets.

05What a Collection's Card says

The kind, the members, the kinds offered, the conditions.

A Collection's Card — the public side
FieldWhat it carries
Kind Mosaic, Composite or Evaluation, on the Card and on the tile's edition line.
Members On a Mosaic, each member by number and edition, each with its own Card. On a Composite, the members and their shares are in the ledger and on the licensee's paper, not on the Card.
Licence kinds offered Execution, learning, derivative — whichever are offered for the Set, each with a term, a field of use and a territory.
Conditions What each contributor has put on what is made of their skill, carried from the member's Card.
Scope and Refuses What the Set is for and where it stops. A Mosaic refuses whatever any member refuses and never answers as one voice: every answer names its member. A Composite answers as one object, and its ancestry is recorded.

Status Specified — written down and numbered, not issued.

Never a share. Never a figure. Never a result. Never an identity beyond the licence name.

06How a Collection is licensed

One paper for the Set, and the ending follows the kind.

A Collection is licensed on one paper. Three licence kinds are offered: execution, learning and derivative. Each carries a term, a field of use and a territory. The paper names the Set by number and edition and, on a Mosaic, every member the same way.

A contributor may put conditions on what is made of their skill: the field of use it may be run in, the territory, no use for surveillance, no unattended operation, and a named use or house kept away from it. The conditions travel on the Card and in the licence. On a Set they travel member by member.

Ending it follows the kind. On an execution licence: It stops for new work at once; a job already underway finishes. On a Mosaic that ends one member, and the rest of the shelf stands. On a learning or derivative licence: Material used to build a model comes out at the model's next revision, and that date is stated to the person before they sign. The register never claims a model has forgotten anyone.

No rate, no term of years and no share appears on this page or on any Card.

Where to go next
