For business owners

A reference that answers, and says where the answer came from.

Everything on this page is design. Eight seats are written down and numbered; not one of them is built, and nothing here is offered for sale today. Read it as a specification you can hold the register to later, because that is what it is.

Tacit Tessera registers every kind of skill set and licenses it to two kinds of licensee: OEMs — makers, kit companies, fleet owners, businesses that run a machine — and AI, meaning a platform, an agent builder or a command centre. Steady Eddie and Strategic Agent require skill sets. Even Steven owns them. Tacit Tessera licenses them to OEMs and to AI.

01The eight seats

The first eight seats of the Office sector are the Records families the register starts with, and each one is a seat in a business you would recognize:

  • Estimating — how work of a kind has priced, and what a scope has usually involved
  • Project controls — how a job has been tracked against what it was sold as
  • Controller — the close, the review, the sequence that gets it done
  • Safety & compliance — what has been required, and where it has gone wrong
  • Operations — how work has been sequenced, and where it has failed
  • Records & filing — where a company's own paper lives and how it is kept
  • Prequalification — what has been asked for, and what has answered it
  • Fleet & maintenance — how equipment has been kept and what it has cost to keep

Every one of the eight reads Specified. None is built, none is offered. They are a first shelf, and the register is open. Every number leads with its sector letter: O R 1 001 GN is the Office sector's estimating seat.

02What a Records skill set is

It is a reference built from a body of records — job history, bids, actuals, working drawings, or the practice files a professional retained over a career. Nobody is interviewed and nobody is recorded to build one. That is the Hands track, a different road.

What it does is narrow and it is the whole point: it answers with named sources, and it refuses when the records do not support an answer. A refusal is not a failure of the seat. It is the seat working. It refuses again when an answer would expose a single job's figure — figures leave only as bands across many jobs, never one job's number.

The honest limit comes with it. A body of records holds the written-down-able kind of knowledge. It does not hold the kind that lives in somebody's hands, or the kind that only exists between people on a site. A licensee is told which grade they are buying before they buy it.

03You install the seat. The reference stays where it is.

The seat

You install it into the AI your business already uses. It is the method — how the question is asked and how the answer is put together.

The reference

It is consulted, never delivered. It is not delivered, not copied to you, and not handed over. It does not leave.

Your own records

They never feed the reference unless you choose to contribute them. Contributing is a separate decision, per tier, and it is yours.

That is the principle the whole track rests on: license access and work, never the pile. A body of records stops being licensable the moment it is handed over, so it is not handed over. What you are buying is the answer and the work product, not the archive behind it.

A Source here is either a named person's practice or a company's records; the Card says which, and a company is coded and never named publicly. A Source consents tier by tier, is paid under its own agreement with Even Steven, and can withdraw — which takes it out of serving from the next serve on. On the other tracks the ruled timing is: It stops for new work at once; a job already underway finishes. A Source's records are never used to build anyone's model.

04What comes out, and whose name is on it

A work product is a document you save as your own — an estimate sheet, for instance, carrying a price band, coded comparables, risk flags, your assumptions and what is missing. It carries its sources and it carries its refusals.

Every work product names the Tacit Tessera number and edition it came from. That is what makes a sheet you produce today readable against the register in five years: an edition is frozen, so the same number and edition behave the same way, or the register says why not.

Every output is decision support. The professional sign-off stays with you. The seat does not sign anything, does not approve anything, and does not stand between you and your own judgment.

A Records Card takes a new number when the contributing scope changes, and a new edition when jobs are added or corrections are made. The number tells you what it was built from; the edition tells you when.

05What has to be true before a seat is offered

A seat stays Specified until its corpus is built and it passes a sealed test. Experts write the questions and seal them before the build, so the build cannot be shaped around the answers. A pass means the answers are correct and name the source they came from, and the set includes at least one question designed to have no answer, which the seat has to refuse.

Method only. No result from any such test is published on this site, and none exists to publish. Before anything is licensed there is also a red team, signed contributor agreements, counsel review and prices ruled. None of that has happened.

No Records seat has been built. Nothing has been metered, no contributor has signed, and nobody has been paid. The eight seats are written down and numbered so that they can be — not because they are.

The specification is public. Nothing else is.

Every Records entry in the Book publishes its scope, what it will be built from, how it will be tested and what it refuses. If your company keeps records worth a seat, the door is the contact page.
