For kit companies
Fit the choose-and-count path to machines already working.
You do not wait for a model year. The machines this register is written for are in the field now, under warranty or out of it, on somebody's job this week. Fitting the path to those machines is the first road in, and it is the one that is open first.
Tacit Tessera registers every kind of skill set and licenses it to two kinds of licensee: OEMs — makers, kit companies, fleet owners, businesses that run a machine — and AI, meaning a platform, an agent builder or a command centre. Steady Eddie and Strategic Agent require skill sets. Even Steven owns them. Tacit Tessera licenses them to OEMs and to AI.
A maker builds the path into the next machine. You fit it to the last ten years of them. There are more machines working today than any production line will replace in a decade, and a skill set that can only reach new iron reaches almost nothing.
Every number leads with its sector letter, so a Construction-sector Machine entry reads C M 3 001 CV. The order on this road is settled: a kit company first, then a maker. Tacit Source licenses the release interface under agreement, and nothing is shown outside the family of companies until counsel holds the particulars and an agreement is in place. That fence is there before the first conversation, not after it.
Two things, and only ever two.
Choose
A way of working is selected by name, before the work starts. No default. No last-used. One family of machine per taught way of working, and it refuses work outside that family.
Count
The act that clears the machine to run is the act that starts the count. One signed row is the clearance, the invoice and the pay, and it names the number and edition that ran.
Around those two, three rules that do not move. A release proposes. It never authorizes. A person authorizes, and safety has veto. And a released package does not learn in the field: it is fixed at the edition it was released at, and it changes only when somebody with a name and a date puts a different edition on the machine.
What is inside the interface is not described on this site — not the package format, not what carries it, not what it touches. You will get the particulars under agreement or not at all. What is described here is the behaviour you are fitting: chosen by name, proposes only, fixed at an edition, counted at source.
This is the confusion worth heading off before it starts, because both halves involve a case of equipment and a machine, and they have nothing to do with each other.
Capture
Steady Eddie's capture kit, STE Trainer, is a kit in a case, wired to nothing, with the unit out of the seat and disconnected. It is how a way of working is taught. It does not run a machine, and it is not what you fit.
Release
The choose-and-count path is how a finished, numbered skill set reaches a machine and reports its hours. It is what you fit. It never carries a recording, and a machine never receives a session.
Keep them apart in your own material as well. A page that blurs the kit in the case with the path on the machine describes a product that does not exist, and it makes a promise about a person's work that the architecture would not be able to keep.
Steady Eddie's task packages exist as written specifications, and none has been run on any machine. Each one carries its bounds, the site information it requires, its pre-start checks and its refusals, and each one reads Specified in the register.
No productivity claim is made anywhere in this register, by any house. We do not say it makes your machine faster. What is said is narrower and checkable: the way of working that was asked for by name is the one that runs, it runs on one family of machine, and every hour it runs is signed for at the machine.
No capture session has been recorded, no operator has been signed, nothing has been metered and nobody has been paid.
